Age Concern
So, a few weeks ago I started my Age Concern befriending. I have been paired with a delightful lady who is in her mid 80′s and is living in sheltered accommodation not far from where I live. I’ll refer to her as ‘Mrs A’.
Sadly, she is house-bound, and not having any close family (and having lost her husband 20 years ago), other than myself she only has one of her neighbours and her home help for company.
I’m really enjoying visiting Mrs A, she is an interesting lady and I’m finding out a lot about the history of the area (she has lived in the local area for over 40 years so has many tales to tell).
I wasn’t sure what to expect with volunteering with Age Concern, but already I’m finding it very rewarding. :)
And I’ll try and be a bit more regular with my blog posts in future…
